GLASGOW CLASSIC STATEMENT

Thank you to everyone who attended the Glasgow Classic Weekender. It was a great weekend and very successful. Special thanks to everyone who worked all weekend to make it run so smoothly.

With regards to the US pro’s not being at the event, I thought it would be helpful to provide full details of why there was a last minute change to the line up. Jason and I had a verbal contract in place which was agreed by both parties over seven months ago, unfortunately Sophy could not gain entry to the UK due to visa problems. This was accepted as was out of anyone’s control, however Jason was still planning to come on his own. Two weeks before the event Jason expressed concerns that he was worried that he may also have problems getting to Scotland due to Sophy being denied.

Additionally, Jason wanted to change the terms of the agreement we had in place and be paid in advance for all his flights and Dance Tuition. This was not possible for two reasons. One, it was a change to the payment arrangements which had been in place for 7 months and secondly should Jason not arrive in Scotland Capital Dance would have been left in a position with no professionals to attend and teach,

Jason gave me a deadline in the final week to change the contract or he wasn't coming. I chose not to change our agreed terms, instead I took the difficult decision to replace them with two other professionals.

I chose to release this statement so everyone is clear on the situation. It was a fantastic weekend with over 80 at the workshops and a special thanks to Mike Rosa and Lauren Carter for their time and work.
